A surface pump is a type of water pump that remains above ground and draws water from a well, reservoir, or other water source using suction. It is commonly used for irrigation, domestic water supply, and industrial applications.
HOW A SUBMERSIBLE PUMP WORKS :
- Suction Mechanism – The pump creates a vacuum to pull water from the source.
- Impeller Rotation – The rotating impeller transfers the water pressure.
- Water Discharge – The pressurized water is then pushed through pipes for use.

- Actual pump HP and model are to be selected based on beneficiary's dynamic water level, water yield, required discharge (LPM), total head and pipe length.
- Surface pumps are suitable only for water level up to 20–25 ft (suction limit). For more depth, a submersible pump is recommended.
